A celebration of material originally destined for burial in a landfill, the Decay tray is made off truffle beech veneer, an upcycled waste wood with a beautiful pattern of decay.
Truffle beech veneers are from wood that was previously refined with various fungi. The fungi create discolorations in the wood and this way they stain the natural product in the most environmentally friendly way. At the same time, the marble-like wood with a strong structure makes a lively and authentic contrast to other materials. Veneers for connoisseurs and the result of an ideal cooperation of nature and the latest technologies. The decay process is stopped using an appropriate food safe lacquer, making the tray useful for serving fruit or cookies. But it looks equally beautiful on a desk holding pens and paper clips.
